What is a talking therapy?

Commonly known as counselling or psychotherapy, talking therapies provide a safe, non-judgemental space for the talking through of troubles and difficulties.

Such treatments can help individuals find ways of managing their circumstances in positive and helpful ways.

It may help them realise that their current patterns of behaviour or thinking are not serving them well.

With the guidance of an experienced practitioner, psychotherapy encourages you to stand back and take a long hard look at yourself and your situation.

It's a kind of psychological stock-taking. You decide that which continues to be useful, and that which is long past its sell-by date and needs discarding. You head in directions that feel right for you!

Covid-19

During the Covid-19 outbreak, therapy sessions will be by telephone, or online via FaceTime or Zoom.
